Detailed Description
Who needs an Interstate Authority Package?
Our Interstate Authority Packages are for motor carriers that cross state lines for-hire, or are compensated to haul freight outside of their base state. Any interstate for-hire carrier of passengers, property, or household goods must have an active MC number and USDOT Number to be in compliance at the federal level, regardless of gross vehicle weight.
Why should I let Interstate Authority take care of the application process?
First, we save you time. Just answer a few simple questions and we will prepare the applications and get your numbers issued for you. Secondly, we give you peace of mind. You don't have to worry that your application may contain mistakes that could delay your grant date or get your application rejected altogether. Finally, we save you money. Our service fees are much lower than other reputable registration services. Match that with our unbeatable customer service and support, it's a no-brainer.
How does the Interstate Authority application process work?
Once we complete the application for your Interstate Authority, you will be issued a pending MC number from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This MC number will remain pending for at least 18-21 days due to the federal protest period. Household Goods and Passenger Carrier applications may remain pending up to 6 weeks.
In order for the FMCSA to grant your authority et the end of the waiting perior, your final step will be insurance verification. You'll need to contact your insurance company and ask them to file the BMC-91 to the FMCSA. The BMC-91(x), is a form submitted by your insurance company to the FMCSA that verifies your auto liability coverage. Moving Companies would also require the BMC-34 filing for cargo insurance verification
